Fabiana, Founder + Creative Director
Who I am
I'm Fabiana Mena, a filmmaker and creative director based in Doha, and the founder of fabcreative.studio.

I grew up in Mexico City and built my career in Toronto before moving to Qatar.
​
I've always wanted to tell stories. What I love most is helping brands tell theirs, in their own way, with something creative and original instead of copying whatever's trending.
​
For the past six years I've made films and photographs for luxury hospitality, from The Plaza Doha to Barneys NY Residences, along with wellness and destination work in Mexico and Spain. I also direct narrative short films.
​
I work solo or with a full crew, in English or Spanish. I keep my sets calm, respectful and kind.
Based in Doha.

Creative Process

We jump on a call. I always like to start with a conversation, to understand what you need and what the work has to do.

Pre-production. I put together a mood board and shot list, and we go through it together. We only start shooting once you’ve approved everything, so we’re on the same page.

The shoot. I bring the creative direction and ideas and make sure they fit your brand. You always have the final say on what stays.

Post-production. You get two rounds of revisions. Because we plan so much upfront, there are rarely big changes at this stage.
Mission
Storytelling is one of the oldest ways humans understand each other. I make films because I believe that's still true and because in a world of polished, perfect visuals, a real story is harder to find and worth more when you do. Anyone can make something that looks good.
Making something people actually want to watch is a different skill entirely.
Vision
To work with luxury hotels and brands as a narrative partner — not just to document a space, but to find the cultural story behind it. Every property exists somewhere specific, was built by someone specific, draws a certain kind of person for a reason. Those stories are often more interesting than the rooms themselves. That's what I want to tell.
Director's Note
Now based in Doha, we’re drawn to stories that feel rooted in place, culture and design. We spend time in the details: the way the light moves at different hours, the rituals of service, the moments guests remember without realizing why. That’s what we aim to capture, work that feels lived-in
